Blackout Black Friday Whitehall Ohio

Update people have shown up and have a protest going . 

I received this picture just about 10 mn. ago so ill share it . Looks like I was a little quick to say it did not happen, it was just latter then posted .

I will again say this is why better communication is needed . 

   I was asked to plug this event and give it support. I placed it as a pinned post in our local protesters group, and made  arrangements

to live-stream from the event. I got a bit of a late start and arrived a half hour late for the start of the event. On my way I passed a news truck from local NBC 4 WCMH and was excited that coverage would not come from me alone. What happened after I arrived aggravated me to my core. 
  This event organized by Ferguson National Response, was set to take place at Walmart locations from coast to coast . The Web Page advertising for the events, Boasts Union Proud & Powered . It was held for a number of reasons, First and foremost  Walmart's financial support of officer Wilson deference fund in the Mike Brown killing case. Walmart is the leading Donner to his deference fund, upon making another large contribution last night received what can only be described as a paid Military, and Police, security force. 
  The other part is Wally worlds deliberate abuse of our nations welfare system. Walmart is our nations biggest employer, and our largest recipient of cooperate welfare . They have staff that

instructs, & aids employees on how to apply for benefits, like food-stamps, and public assisted health care. If the numbers from employees, could be added to numbers of direct cooperate assistance, the figures would stump most of the waste in pet projects of our elected officials in Washington.  
With all this its easy to understand why Union Organizations would champion this cause. I my self am not a big fan of our Labor Unions, In the United States. I think they need to pay closer to the attention to the actions of European Trade  Unions if they wish to fix, and organize our ever shrinking labor force. 
  This all said now its time for me to offer up today's events . The event was a total no show. A half hour after the start not a soul could be fond . I spoke to an Officer with the Whitehall Police

department working security for the cooperate giant who said "No Protesters had been seen on any part of the property, or along the streets" He continued to add "the most excitement the store had seen was an elderly customer locked out of their car". 
  I drove around a bit looking for any signs that a small group could be out and about. I even made a stop two blocks away at Local UFCW Union Hall, This is the local that pickets Walmart, and McDonald's for unfair wages, and substandard  treatment  of employees. No signs of life could be found. Two days of newspapers left at the entrance used

by employees of the hall, as well as locked doors, & cold hoods on the cars used for transportation to picket lines suggested no actions had been planned for this day. It was clear that on a local front this protest if it even happened was organized just to get a sound bite on a

local news station. 
  So now it comes to this, if you wish me to show up to an event please make sure it lasts longer than 20 min. It took me longer then that to drive to this event . I support all kinds of causes, and promote all civil actions I am contacted about, even if I don't agree with them . To have me show and be the only person at said location is a surefire way to never have my support again. The Columbus Activist community is as diverse as our

population. Communication is always a problem from group to group. I started the Columbus Anonymous Protesters Group for the soul purpose of providing that communication. If an event is promoted in this group You must communicate if its canceled . Not doing this will leave those who show up and find out no ones coming believing the group is useless . I am sure I was not the only one left hanging today . People parked in out of the way places close to the streets seemed to be looking for others.

 This event failed to happen because those who organized it failed to show and stick it out. Black Friday is a hectic day for those working, and shopping. This event could have been a great one, all it needed was a couple people and others would have joined . I am moving on now to other projects and some family time have a good day .
